Found this on 9gag. Thought it was neat. How many colors do you see? I see 34 and true I don’t like yellow. 😎

1. If you see less than 20 color nuances: you are a dichromats, like dogs, which means you have 2 types of cones only. You are likely to wear black, beige, and blue. 25% of the population is dichromat.

2. If you see between 20 and 32 color nuances: you are a trichromat, you have 3 types of cones (in the purple/blue, green and red area). You enjoy different colors as you can appreciate them. 50% of the population is trichromat.

3. If you see between 33 and 39 colors: you are a tetrachromat, like bees, and have 4 types of cones (in the purple/blue, green, red plus yellow area). You are irritated by yellow, so this color will be nowhere to be found in your wardrobe. 25% of the population is tetrachromat. – View on Path.

Benang Skotel waterfall from afar. This is the waterfall we come across before Benang Kelambu waterfall in Lombok. The walk from the parking lot is around 5-10 minutes through the rainforest.

Saturday selfie with nature 😊 This is Benang Kelambu Waterfall in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. It’s called kelambu because it looks like a kelambu, a sheer cloth hung around your bed to keep mosquitos away. You can swim and drench yourself in the cold water. However, the hike to this place is around 30 minutes on foot plus going up and down hills & steps. Don’t worry, locals have ojek or chartered motorbike (IDR 40k one way) to take you if you can’t handle the walk πŸ˜‚

In one study from 2006, psychological researcher Shelly Gable and her colleagues brought young adult couples into the lab to discuss recent positive events from their lives. They psychologists wanted to know how partners would respond to each other’s good news. They found that, in general, couples responded to each other’s good news in four different ways that they called: passive destructive, active destructive, passive constructive, and active constructive.

Let’s say that one partner had recently received the excellent news that she got into medical school. She would say something like β€œI got into my top choice med school!”

If her partner responded in a passive destructive manner, he would ignore the event. For example, he might say something like: β€œYou wouldn’t believe the great news I got yesterday! I won a free t-shirt!”

If her partner responded in a passive constructive way, he would acknowledge the good news, but in a half-hearted, understated way. A typical passive constructive response is saying β€œThat’s great, babe” as he texts his buddy on his phone.

In the third kind of response, active destructive, the partner would diminish the good news his partner just got: β€œAre you sure you can handle all the studying? And what about the cost? Med school is so expensive!”

Finally, there’s active constructive responding. If her partner responded in this way, he stopped what he was doing and engaged wholeheartedly with her: β€œThat’s great! Congratulations! When did you find out? Did they call you? What classes will you take first semester?”

Among the four response styles, active constructive responding is the kindest. One of the reason why relationship last. It’s not just about being there during the bad times, but being there during the good times too. Which one are you?

When the Earth has given so much for us, it’s our duty to help conserve and protect it from harms that we often make ourselves. As future agronomist, horticulturist, plant breeder, seed scientist and even farmer, we are trying our best to feed the world and help protect the environment at the same time. Finding new ways to help both the population and the environment now sits in our shoulders. Whatever the outcome may be, hope it benefits both human and Mother Nature. Happy Earth Day.
